Lucy Aceves is a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at UBC. She obtained a BSc in Biomedical Engineering at Tecnologico de Monterrey in 2016. Lucy’s current research focuses in investigating the neurobiological effects of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) using multiple PET tracers and MRI techniques.

Research

Lucy is currently assessing the effects of multiple sessions of theta burst stimulation (TBS), a high frequency form rTMS. More specifically, she is investigating how a clinical course of TBS modifies dopaminergic transmission, metabolic and functional connectivity, brain structure and expression of neuroinflammation markers in healthy subjects.
